Can INDUR help me lose weight?
One huge but often-overlooked reason for weight-loss resistance involves hormonal imbalances. When it comes to burning more calories than you consume, this so-called weight loss equation only applies to perfect hormonal specimens; people who have their cortisol, leptin, thyroid, insulin, estrogen and testosterone in perfect balance. Almost anyone who struggles with weight loss also battles a hormone imbalance.
Is this covered by insurance?
Insurance companies consider these advanced tests “exploratory and unnecessary” and typically deny coverage. The out-of-pocket costs, if ordered by your doctor, range from $2,500 to $4,500. We don’t accept insurance but some insurance policies will reinburse a percentage of the costs of our tests and/or may apply this expense to your deductible. We can provide you with a list of CPT codes and assist you with submitting a reinbursement request to your insurance provider.
I have a good Doctor. Can’t they do this?
Well, have they? Traditional medicine is designed to treat symptoms with drugs, not finding and fixing the root cause of your issues. You’ll have a hard time getting the advanced hormone, metabolic, nutritional, and cardiovascular tests we use through your Doctor. Most Doctors admit that since insurance won’t cover advanced preventative testing, they don’t have the necessary experience interpreting the advanced tests we use.
Why don’t you offer less expensive at home tests like other companies?
The body is a complex interconnected set of systems. It’s critical to get a comprehensive baseline of your health to develop an effective plan of action. For example only testing your thyroid or sex hormones alone isn’t adequate. Also, most of our advanced tests aren’t available in home collection kits. After you’re baseline is determined and your suboptimal biomarkers identified, you can purchase our tests individually at your convenience. This will allow you to affordablly test select biomarkets.
I’m having a hard time getting fit. Can INDUR really help?
INDUR offers a scientific approach to healthy living. We use the insight from your blood tests to build an efficient and effective action plan. If you find it impossible to lose weight, build lean muscle, or even find the energy to exercise, you need to find out what’s holding you back. Your blood has the answers.
Do you use DNA or Genetics?
Our advisory board believes the science behind DNA is still evolving. In many cases, the marketing behind DNA testing is stronger than the science. Our Ultimate package includes specific genomic testing to evaluate common genetic variations known as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). The presence of specific SNPs may indicate a predisposition for health vulnerabilities. The SNPS we test help optimize cardiovascular health, detoxification, methylation, immune modulation, and estrogen metabolism.
How is an INDUR testing panel different from what I get in an annual physical?
We measure between 108 and 215 markers that require over 15 vials of blood and 4 saliva samples. During a routine physical, Doctors’ typically use four basic tests that require three vials of blood. In addition to our comprehensive testing, you’ll get personalized optimal biomarker ranges and lifestyle, supplement, nutrition and exercise recommendations to help you optimize your health.
How much do future tests cost?
The cost of you initial testing ranges from at $874 to $2149. After your initial test, you’ll get a custom follow-up panel based on your suboptimal biomarkers, action plan and overall objectives. Follow-up testing is less expensive than our initial test packages. Costs typically range from $300 and $600.
What is an integrative Doctor?
It’s a Doctor who practices integrative medicine. Integrative medicine is an approach to care that puts the patient at the center and addresses the full range of physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual and environmental influences that affect a person's health. Doctors focus on the whole person and use all natural, less-invasive interventions when possible.
I’m not satisfied with the current healthcare system. How does INDUR help?
INDUR exists because we think the healthcare experience can be so much better. Our healthcare system focuses on treating symptoms, not the cause. We think that’s crazy! We give you the insight and tools necessary to take a more active role in managing your health.
Do you test the stress hormone cortisol?
Yes. We’re unique in that we test cortisol levels over a 24 hour period. We collect 4 saliva samples and calculate a diurnal pattern to assess adrenal gland function. Testing blood cortisol levels once in the morning is a flawed and incomplete method and often leads to false readings.
How accurate are the results?
Very accurate. Our laboratory partners are certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and are the same laboratories used by major hospitals and physician groups. Our lab partners process over 250 million specimmens annually. Your order and results are reviewed by a licensed physician in your state.
