According to the World Health Organization’s constitution, health is a basic human right. It refers to our ability to maintain homeostasis and recover from adverse events. It also refers to our mental and emotional well-being. It’s a human right, and is not based solely on genetics, but also our social and emotional well-being. In other words, we shouldn’t limit our definition of health to physical features.

In 1948, WHO set a standard definition of health, including the absence of disease. However, researchers have since suggested that this definition is no longer adequate, and the term should instead focus on the individual’s capacity to adapt, self-manage, and develop skills. These attributes are also crucial in maintaining good health. For example, the definition of health in the context of mental and emotional well-being could be much more inclusive than if it were based solely on physical factors.
